South Myrtle Beach

About the Location:

Why just "south"?  First - in my opinion, it has the best collection of courses in the closest proximity.  Second - the vibe of Pawleys Island is a bit more relaxed then the rest of the area - specifically the downtown region of Myrtle Beach itself.  Also, I don't have enough space on this page for all of Myrtle anyway, so there will be separate pages dedicated to central and north Myrtle Beach.

The Courses (not limited to the following...):

Caledonia  (pictured behind) - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
True Blue - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
Heritage Club - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
TPC Myrtle Beach - 18 holes - Murrells Inlet, SC
Founders Club - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
Pawleys Plantation G&CC - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
The Tradition - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
Willbrook Plantation - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
River Club - 18 holes - Pawleys Island, SC
Litchfield CC - 18 holes - Pawleys Plantation, SC

Hints and Tips:

As an alternative to flying into a busy (and often expensive) Myrtle Beach Airport (MYR) - consider Florence, SC (FLO), about 90 minutes NW of Myrtle Beach.  On departure day, you can get a bonus 18 in at a Central Myrtle Beach course (like Prestwick) before heading out for a late afternoon flight.
